POLICY ON THE ACTIVITIES IN THE HOTEL
IN THE CONDITIONS OF COVID-19

Dear guests,
Welcome to the Royal Varna Hotel! The hotel management would like to express its heartfelt gratitude for the trust you have placed in us by choosing to spend your holiday at our hotel – Thank you!

Cleanliness and hygiene have always been top priorities for us – something you understand with your first steps in the hotel. Now, in the face of a global pandemic, it is our responsibility to go beyond ourselves and maximise our efforts in order to preserve the health of our guests and employees. The team of the Royal hotel is keeping a close eye on the news from the Operational Headquarters for Combating Coronavirus in Bulgaria and the World Health Organization on cases of coronavirus (COVID-19), as well as their guidelines and those from the local health services.

Your health and good conditioning have always been our goal, and taking care of your unforgettable holiday is at the heart of our business. We would like to inform you that in order to protect you and your loved ones, we work in accordance with all regulations and requirements of the health authorities in connection with the prevention against the spread of COVID-19. Our employees are trained to comply with and work according to the strictest hygiene requirements. All of them use personal protective equipment at work. In order to be able to take care of your safety, please familiarize yourself with the hotel’s rules of conduct in COVID-19 conditions.

Policy on hygiene precautions– our standard policies and procedures for the protection of human health and safety include measures for the prevention of a wide range of viruses, including COVID-19, and cover everything from hand washing guidelines and use of cleaning and disinfection products to procedures for cleaning guest rooms and public areas.

Specific measures in this regard include:

  • Hand hygiene: Proper and frequent hand washing is vital in combating the spread of viruses. Disinfectant dispensers are available in all areas of the hotel.
  • Continuous training: In addition to the staff training in hotel hospitality and hygiene protocols, employees also go through training to combat the spread of COVID-19.
  • Real-time information: The Royal Hotel team is available 24/7 to assist all guests, as well as to coordinate with the local authorities.
  • Cleaning agents and protocols: We use cleaning products and protocols that are effective against viruses.
  • Hotel rooms: We use protocols for cleaning and disinfecting the rooms after check-out and before the arrival of the next guests, which focus particularly on the most frequently touched places and objects.
  • Common areas: We have increased the frequency of cleaning and disinfection in the common areas, with particular attention paid to the counters of the reception, lifts and buttons, door handles and keys, and shared toilets.
  • Staff rooms and service rooms: We have increased the frequency of cleaning and focused our attention on the most frequently touched places such as entrances, lockers, laundry rooms and staff offices.

The specific measures by hotel facilities include:

Controlled access – At the hotel entrance, you will be informed of the accommodation procedure. On the day of accommodation, to avoid accumulation of people, guests will not be allowed in the hotel before 2 pm or at the discretion of the hotel management. Your temperature will be measured by our employee. Please note that non-hotel guests are not allowed in the hotel.

Reception – In order to serve you without a risk to your health, please wait your turn at a distance of 1.50 m from the other guests. Gathering of more than two guests will not be allowed, unless they are members of a family. For your own safety, as well as for that of the staff, we have set up a transparent barrier that restricts your direct contact. The keycards to the hotel rooms are disinfected before each new use and after returning them by leaving guests. Please pay your bill on the day before your departure in order to reduce your stay at the reception upon check-out. Card and contactless payments are recommended to limit contact with banknotes and coins.

Lobby area – We have rearranged the furniture in the seating areas to comply with the rules of social distance for the guests’ convenience.

Room – Your room is cleaned and disinfected daily only in your absence. In the event of a visit by the maid, you are requested to provide access to the room. Cleaning of the room is performed with an increased focus on remotes, lighting keys, handles and flat surfaces. If you need an emergency change of linen or towels, you can contact the reception by phone at extension 9. Please use the red and green colour door hanger sign as desired – “Do not disturb! / Please clean the room!”

Common areas – All adjacent common areas are cleaned and disinfected as scheduled. Dispensers with disinfectant are placed at the entrances and all key points. Please do not use the toilets in the common areas during cleaning and disinfection.

Restaurants and bars – Prior to entering the catering establishments, you are requested to use the hand disinfectant we have placed at the entrance to the restaurant. Only one direction of movement of the guests is indicated. Please observe a distance of 1.50 m from the other guests. The arrangement of the tables and chairs complies with the mandatory safety and comfort distance.

Relaxation area – Disinfect your hands before visiting the areas. You will be allowed only in case of observance of a safe distance.

Spa centre – The use of the areas is possible in observance of distance, personal hygiene and disinfection, and within the intensity determined by the authorities, namely at a minimum of 4 sq. m. of area per person. You are requested to check the availability and schedule for visits prior to using any of the areas.

Please pay particular attention to your children, who must also strictly observe all the imposed rules!

For the sake of general safety, health protection, your comfort and that of our employees, we address all of you with the following recommendations:

  • Each of you, as a guest of the hotel, should observe the rules of personal disinfection.
  • Maintain social distance
  • Become acquainted with the information boards containing safety rules that are placed in the hotel lobby
  • After use of single packages and consumables, they should be disposed of at waste sites as soon as they are used.
  • If you or your loved ones are suspected of COVID-19 or notice symptoms such as fever, cough, difficulty breathing, sore throat, runny nose, tiredness, muscle pains, inform the reception immediately by phone at extension 9. Do not leave your room in any way.

Upon detection of a guest with COVID-19, the instructions of the Ministry of Healthcare will be followed – the guest will be isolated in a pre-designated room. Next steps on their treatment will be further specified on the spot by the medical authorities, according to their condition. The hotel will not be quarantined and will continue to operate, following all the recommendations of the health authorities.
